1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using XALA ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users — guests, hosts, and administrators.

2. Definitions

  • "Guest" — A registered user who books properties or event spaces
  • "Host" — A registered user who lists properties or event spaces for booking
  • "Property" — Any hotel, apartment, villa, event space, conference centre, or ballroom listed on the Platform
  • "Booking" — A confirmed reservation of a Property by a Guest

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate, complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining your account security and all activities under your account. You must be at least 18 years old to register.

4. Bookings & Payments

  • All bookings are subject to availability and host confirmation
  • Prices displayed include applicable taxes (VAT at 7.5%) and service fees (5%)
  • Payments are processed securely via Paystack, Flutterwave, or Stripe
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking
  • Booking references are generated upon successful payment

5. Cancellation Policy

More than 72 hours before check-in Full refund (less processing fees)
24–72 hours before check-in 50% refund
Less than 24 hours / No show No refund

6. Host Responsibilities

  • Hosts must ensure property listings are accurate and up-to-date
  • Properties must meet minimum safety and cleanliness standards
  • Hosts must honour confirmed bookings
  • Misrepresentation of properties may result in account suspension
  • XALA charges a platform commission on completed bookings

7. Guest Responsibilities

  • Guests must respect property rules set by hosts
  • Any damage to property will be the financial responsibility of the Guest
  • Guest reviews must be honest and relate to actual stays
  • Fraudulent bookings or chargebacks may result in account suspension

8. Reviews & Ratings

Guests may leave one review per completed booking. Reviews must be truthful, relevant, and not contain offensive content. XALA reserves the right to remove reviews that violate our community guidelines.

9. Loyalty Programme

Guests earn loyalty points on completed bookings. Points have no cash value and cannot be transferred. XALA reserves the right to modify the loyalty programme with notice.

10. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including logos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of XALA or its licensors. Users may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

11. Limitation of Liability

XALA acts as a marketplace connecting Guests and Hosts. We are not responsible for the condition of properties, host conduct, or guest behaviour. Our liability is limited to the fees paid to us for the specific booking in dispute.

12. Dispute Resolution

Disputes between Guests and Hosts should first be raised through our support team. If unresolved, disputes shall be settled through arbitration under Nigerian Arbitration and Mediation Act. The arbitration shall take place in Abuja, FCT.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification 30 days before taking effect.
